Spilling Secrets 5: Distance Makes the Toys Work Harder

Spilling Secrets 5: Distance Makes the Toys Work Harder

So if you were able to read my last blog post, somewhere between me getting flogged to drill music and having the time of my life, I mentioned my Bluetooth toy that syncs to music.

For those that are long distance, trying to find different ways to connect in between visits can be challenging. There is no “I miss you. Come over” text that can be sent and easily resolved in an hour or less when you’re in different states. I mean, the pandemic gave us different ways to have dates, but what about the sexual needs that can’t be handled at the drop of a hat?

That’s where FaceTime & a toy, or three 🤭, come in.

And I know what’s been said.

“That messes with your ability to feel or orgasm when the time comes.”

“What do you need a toy for?”

“I’m not going to zap myself.”

“Are you trying to say my sex isn’t good enough?”

“You’re THAT horny to where you can’t wait?”

Trust me baby, I’ve heard it all.

And the fact of the matter is, toys aren’t your competition, they’re your friend. Or assistant, as I’d like to say. Solo exploration isn’t a bad thing, and it isn’t an indicator of how good the sex is or isn’t.

I understand how the stigma surrounding the exploration of intimacy can make introducing new things, like toys, a little harder. But with proper education—and the right person, if you so choose—it can be fun.

And don’t just think toys are only for women. There are plenty for men too. There are even Bluetooth toys for couples to use and sync together.

And when there are hundreds—or even thousands—of miles between you, Bluetooth and app-controlled toys can give you another way to play together without physically being in the same room. Your partner can control the toy from their phone, you can explore together over FaceTime, or you can turn it into an entire virtual date night.

If you’re wondering where to start, I’ve got a few long-distance-friendly favorites for you below. 😏

Remember, sex is something you do with your partner and not TO your partner. Sex is to be explored, and it should be enjoyable for all parties involved.

Distance doesn’t mean intimacy has to disappear. Get creative, communicate, stay safe, and happy exploring.

Much Love,

Poppy
